Mrs. Alkin’s third-grade volunteers have been involved in a meaningful multi-step service project that began this spring with a simple idea: making bracelets to spread cheer.
Since April, the students have worked together to create bracelets, organize a donation drive, and assemble care packages filled with essential items, personalized messages of encouragement, and their handmade bracelets.
Yesterday, Mrs. Alkin met with Phil from the NJ Food and Clothing Rescue of Bergen County, who oversees local emergency food pantries. Phil expressed his gratitude for the children’s thoughtful work and is confident that these care packages will provide both practical support and encouragement to those who receive them.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. Your generosity helped make this meaningful act of kindness possible!

Junior Police Academy!
Dr. Ferraro was a guest speaker for Pre-K 3 on May 11 in Mrs. Reilly's room. Students were learning about exercising outdoors and Dr. Ferraro talked about his enthusiasm of running on the weekends. Students learned about a 5K race, the importance of stretching, and running safely on sidewalks. After answering many questions, he invited students to do some jumping jacks and squats as a warm up activity, while connecting this HIIT workout to patterns.
